We often treat astrology as a static monolith—a set of twelve broad buckets into which eight billion people are sorted. But culture, like the urban environments we build, is defined by its edges and its subdivisions. The true utility of any symbolic framework lies not in its generalities, but in the granularity with which it describes our specific realities.
My project, Moonstruck, was born from a desire to move past the superficiality of the daily horoscope. It is a 400-page inquiry into the Decans: the 36 distinct subdivisions of the zodiac. By breaking each sign down into three ten-degree segments, we move from the archetypal to the individual. Each Decan is governed by its own sub-ruler, creating a secondary layer of planetary influence that offers a much higher-resolution portrait of personality, career trajectory, and internal tension.

Consider, for example, the second Decan of Scorpio. When we look at a moment in time—such as November 3rd, the date of this original dispatch—we find a convergence of Neptune’s ethereal, dream-like influence with the raw, structural power of Pluto. This isn't just "Scorpio"; it is a specific frequency of transformation. To observe this is to recognize that we are not governed by singular forces, but by the interplay of conflicting energies.
The Architecture of Insight
In creative work, we are always looking for tools that help us synthesize complexity. Whether you are a designer, a musician, or someone simply trying to decode the dynamics of a community, frameworks like the Decan system serve as a diagnostic lens. They force us to ask: Is this influence bringing clarity, or is it introducing necessary confusion? How does this individual navigate their specific power dynamics?

Moonstruck was designed to reflect this level of detail through both text and visual language. The book acts as a repository for those who respect the power of the stars not as a set of rigid predictions, but as a map for the human condition. It is a study in how we assign meaning to time and character.
Independent Infrastructure
The creation of a resource like this is inherently an act of independent infrastructure building. In a digital landscape increasingly cluttered by automated content and hollow hype, there is a quiet, essential value in producing something that requires deep engagement. Maintaining this kind of creative practice is only possible through direct community support.

Whether you are engaging with the digital preview or joining the conversation on Patreon, your participation sustains the ability to continue producing work that operates outside of corporate mandates. It is a circular ecosystem: you receive a deeper dive into the cosmic and cultural forces that shape our lives, and in return, you provide the overhead that allows independent, thoughtful production to persist. We do not just consume content; we fund the existence of the perspectives we value.
As we navigate the cycles of the seasons, the goal remains the same: to sharpen our perception of the systems—both planetary and human—that define our everyday reality.
